"Members and well wishers keen on supporting Kannada Sangha's programmes, please contact President / Secretary or any committee members".

Ranga Sanje
Time : 6.00 PM
Venue : DBS Auditorium

On 6th Oct, 2007 Saturday evening, Kannada Sangha, Singapore presented Ranga Sanje, its annual Kannada Natakotsava at DBS Auditorium, Shenton Way.
The programme began with an invocation song dedicated to Lord Ganesha sung by our little ones, followed by the welcome address by Shri Ramadas, President of Kannada Sangha. This was followed by a group song by ladies. The children were again seen in action, showcasing their talents in the form of the drama "Dhruvana Kathe", which included songs, folk dance and music. Through this drama, the children depicted the story of a brave child "Prince Dhruva" and how he overcomes difficulty that was put in front of him and succeeded to become a legend. After this, one of the chief guests, Shri. Debashis Chatterjee (Dean of SP Jain Centre of Management) gave a brief speech and also distributed certificates of participation to young talents. This was followed by a humorous musical skit play "SanmAna Sukha" (by adults), which showed how a formal "felicitation" ceremony for a music "Guru" can turn into a laugh riot, when all his students start singing songs in their own different styles.

That was not all! The adults were also ready with a humorous drama "Hi-Tech Hayavadanachar", showing what happens when priest takes his profession seriously into full fledged business venture. With laptops, mobiles and a bit of local touch added in this humorous play, the audiences were taken for a fun-ride. After this, the chief guest, Shri. Shrinivasa Prabhu (Kannada Stage personality of "Priya Veekshkare" fame) gave a brief speech and also distributed certificates of participation for adult participants. Programme ended with a Lucky draw and cash prizes were given away to 3 lucky winners. With nearly 120 participants on stage, more than 350 audience and 8 co-sponsors, there was a festive mood in the auditorium. The program lasted for little more than 3 hours, followed by light dinner. We would like to thank all the audience for the huge support and encouragement by means of their participation and by staying right till the end of the program. Despite of prior inspection by programme directors for audio and other facilities in the auditorium, the audio facility was poor on the day of the event. Kannada Sangha has officially provided the feedback to DBS on the poor facilities at DBS. Considering the fact that none of the participants are professionals and they used their personal time to put together this show despite of various commitments, this show was a true evidence of dedication and outstanding team effort. We hope you, your family & friends enjoyed the programme. If you have attended the programme, we would like to have your feedback on what you felt - either accolades or critic and how you can actively support KS to implement them. We heartily welcome your comments and suggestions. As always, we will strive to implement as many suggestions as possible.
