Singapore Book of Records Rangoli 2009

It is a proud moment for us, when one of the Kannada Sangha member and Guinness Record Holder Smt. Vijayalakshmi Mohan will be doing yet another big rangoli project  at Anchorvale CC, Sengkang for the Tamil New Year celebration 2009 on 18th April 2009.

She will be drawing a record breaking, longest Rangoli in Singapore and this will be witnessed and certified by the Singapore Book of Records.

Our Honorable Prime Minister will be the guest of honour for this festive event. An estimated 500-600 persons are expected to participate in this Rangoli event and the final touches will be done by our Prime Minister and his Ministerial colleagues and grassroot leaders.

Kannada Sangha and various other Indian organisations have been invited to take part in this event.

Smt. Vijaya Mohan has requested for volunteers who can help with the Rangoli drawings. Those who are interested may directly contact Smt. Vijaya Mohan at 94595756 to register their names.

Note:
a) Working knowledge of Rangoli or Kolam is useful but is not a must.
b) The drawing will start at 3.00 p.m. on 18th April and the volunteers are requested to take up their stations prior to that at around 2.00 p.m.
c) There may be a volunteers meeting prior to the event and Smt. Vijaya Mohan would be communicating the details to the registered volunteers.
d) In view of the need for advance security clearance, all volunteers need to provide their full name and IC Number.

This is a ticketed event and a token of $ 3 per person may be payable to the Anchorvale Community Centre.

Sangha requests its members to participate in this unique event and provide support
